I proudly earned a certificate in Therapy Support!
Please don't misunderstand; I genuinely adore graphic design. I appreciate it even more because it enables me to earn a living. Life is a journey of ongoing learning, and as long as I can continue to learn, I am willing to explore courses beyond graphic design. Last year, I completed a 4-month course in therapy support in healthcare.
What led me to select a course in Therapy Support?
From a young age, I've always been drawn to working in the healthcare sector. However, I didn't have the opportunity to study in that field. Instead, I discovered Graphic Design and have been working as a Designer ever since.
Last year, I came across an article about mid-career switches and related courses. I found it intriguing and decided to seek out more information. After careful consideration, I decided I could enroll in the course for 4 months. If not now, then when? Life is short and unpredictable, and you never know what you might discover and experience as you navigate unfamiliar territory.
What's on my mind right now?
During my one-month practicum at a non-profit social service agency that provides long-term residential nursing care for the elderly, I had the privilege of meeting many individuals who taught me the value of life. I looked forward to going to work each morning. The elderly patients gave me a fresh outlook on life, finding great joy in the simplest things. I felt honored to assist the residents with exercises using physiotherapy equipment. During these sessions, they occasionally shared their stories with me.
Having earned a certificate, I am proud of the hard work I've put in to reach my goal. I'm still focused on Graphic Design, as I can't currently imagine pursuing anything else. However, perhaps in the future, I might explore working as a Therapy Assistant.
